  • Previously Waitlisted on 14th March. Received Department admission chair's email saying "I am sorry to have to tell you that we will be unable to offer you admission to our astronomy graduate program at Northwestern University. Your application was judged to be among the strongest, ?but we had over 150 applications, many very strong. We had to make difficult choices in deciding who to admit. On behalf of my colleagues, I thank you for your interest in our program, and I wish you the very best in your future studies."

  • Emailed today, since I haven't heard anything. "The admissions committee have admitted quite a few prospective. We do not anticipate many more admits. I would assume that your application is currently on the pending pile if you did not receive a deny letter from us." If you are planning on committing elsewhere, please let Irvine know! I'd really appreciate it.

  • "We have sent out acceptances and have a waitlist, which you are not currently on." Kinda bummed because this was my #1 choice. I've barely heard anything about them here or on physicsgre.com, and the only things I've seen are other people who still haven't heard squat. Anybody know what's going on here?
