UCL(Economics, Masters (F18)Rejected via E-mail on 11 Jan 2018 I9 Mar 2018
  • I'm the one who got accepted to NYU and UMich - to the poster who's asking about UCL, yeah, I applied to the MSc Econ at UCL and got my rejection about 4 days after applying. It was quite disheartening and I thought it set precedent for future decisions, but luckily I was proven wrong. UCL is a great school but it's not unheard of for them to impose stricter acceptance criteria to mimic the better schools. To those that got in, congratulations! To those that didn't, don't lose hope - you'll get better schools! ;)
New York Univeristy (NYU GSAS)(Economics, Masters (F18)Accepted via E-mail on 8 Mar 2018 Undergrad GPA: 3.95

  • Can't believe it. Got accepted to NYU and UMich (Ann Arbor) and got rejected by Duke and UCL. 2a/2r/5p Both acceptances are unfunded. I had very strong LORs and my subject GPA (econ and overall) is nearly perfect. Doing my undergrad in an average university in Canada. Did a semester interning for the Ontario Government and a semester abroad on an exchange program in The Netherlands (not sure if that helped...oh well)

  • Email to check website. Accepted: Princeton, Georgetown, UMaryland, University of Cambridge (MPhil), Oxford (MPhil). Waitlisted: UChicago Harris (Public Policy PhD). Rejected: Brown, Columbia, Northwestern, LSE (MRes/PhD), UChicago, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Stanford GSB, Yale. Definitely a lesson in how much of this is just a toss of the dice-- 10 rejections (and counting), including some out of the top 10, but Princeton was a yes (and there was nothing special about my Princeton application).
