Worked for 2 years, 2 publications, informal interview after reaching out to POI over the summer

Fully funded 21000 teaching assistantship with 5000 fellowship.

TTPB: I wouldn't know - the optimist in me wants to say have hope! But it seems the program doesn't really know what to expect regarding retention given the 800 applications , even this letter is an unofficial waitlist...

Any Idea when the Masters results would be out for this institution? Also, is there any chance I would get the admit for 'Databases' stream in this college. I am one of the top NITs in India and have 2.5 years of experience in a top trading firm. Filed a Trade Secret as well. Have LORs from some great folks. Please please please help me out here!!!!

Master's in analytics GPA 3.718. >2 years work experience in data science. Had previous, ongoing contact with the professor.

No funding yet.. does this mean waitlist for funding? any info if they actually do offer funding when a spot opens up?

Congrats to the people who were accepted! I am on the waitlist... They said not to be discouraged but....haha. I appreciate them for getting back to me the fastest out of every program.

TTPB: Is it fair to assume that if you haven't received any such e-mail, there is no chance of admission?

sent an email saying open house is April 9th, here are the first two paragraphs of the letter: "We are writing to let you know that you are under active consideration for admission to our Ph.D. program. Our admissions committee reviewed your application and was quite impressed. It is clear that your record is sufficient to merit admission, but due to the pandemic, we anticipate to make many offers much later than typical...We only make offers that we fully fund (tuition + stipend), via either Teaching Assistantships or Research Assistantships. Effects of the pandemic have rendered uncertain our ability to fund as many graduate students as we would typically. During the next ~5 weeks, we will clarify our situation, and have thus held off currently making as many offers that we would like. We expect to make a number of additional offers.."

Hi TTPB, I think it was very informally said, also this was more in my favor that in case I did get in elsewhere before I hear from them, and had to make a decision, couldn't wait, I could let them know to hear earlier from them. They necessarily weren't interested in learning whether I got in elsewhere to make their decision. Sorry I wasn't clear with the language earlier

Sorry for my mistake. I got the email with a letter from Prof. Linn. No funding at this point. TTPB: Did you get the funding info from AREC?
