Graduate School Admission Results

I got this email: "Thank you for your application to the Basic Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. program at the UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and for taking time to interview with us. We enjoyed the chance to get to know you a bit better. At this time, the Admissions Committee cannot make a final decision on your application for Fall 2024. They have voted to place your name on a list of outstanding candidates for whom a place may become available. This list is not ranked. All applications will be re-reviewed when we can consider if an offer can be made. We will let you know as soon as possible if a space becomes available, and no later than April 1st." I have over 2 years of research experience, 1 first author publication and 2 manuscripts under revision, and 4 Conference presentations. I am hoping for a miracle at this point. Please if you have your dream school and are no longer interested in UT Southwestern, free your slot asap. Thanks

CP - did not submit GRE - fit was "ok", not ideal, thought I had a strong application, but overall not sad since I have one better option

GPA is master's, no interview. Still waiting for funding allocation decisions!

International student who graduated with a degree in molecular cell biology and currently finishing a second degree in computer science. Five coauthored publications--3 primary (1 high impact factor, 2 low/medium impact) and 2 reviews. 1 year of undergraduate research experience, 3 years experience working as a research technician. Interview was via Zoom and met with four different PIs (one seemed like the research was a good fit, others not so much).
