Graduate School Admission Results

I received a rejection email for the clinical psychology PhD program. However, at the end of the email they mentioned that I could get my app transfered over to a terminal masters program. That was nice.

Full RA offer with benefits. In terms of undergrad experience, I had two NASA internships, one industrial internship, a couple of conference presentations, and astrophysics research experience.

Pretty bummed about this, felt confident post interview and was under the impression from faculty that the interview went well. Does anyone know if they often admit from the waitlist or how this process works? However, it was nice to hear back so quickly as the interview was two business days ago.

Not sure how to process this news and not really sure what to expect from here.

Definitely, a tough pill to swallow. Interviewed and really liked the program. Not sure if others feel the same way but seems like years PsyD applicant pool with very hard compared to previous data. Oh well, gotta roll with the punches. Huge congrats to everyone that got accepted, proud of you all!

TTPB who is a current student and got accepted, did you get an email from Tom Hurst or from Graduate School? Did anyone receive the email from Graduate School as of yet?

TTPB: Is that mean if you didn't hear any updates for now, you probably get a rej?

Current Student. If you look through prior years posts you'll notice a pattern: there's usually several waves of phd admits that go out, and MS acceptances and phd rejections are both sent out around March/April.

UMD received my secondary application 12/23/2020. The admissions decision was updated in the portal on 2/3/2021.
