Computer Science, University Of California, Los Angeles(UCLA) To the UCLA admits, for earlier post which states steve said the SIR / SLR info. would be sent out on 4/21. Did you all get it ? I still haven't got mine. I got an email titled "UCLA Computer Science, getting started #1". But other than that email, nothing about SIR/SLR yet. As I knew, SIR/SLR is from the school, so should be different. Let me know, thanks.

Civil, UCLA To the poster below. Weak GRE is exact what they told me. Meanwhile, I didn't intend to apply because it already passed the deadline, but they asked me to apply when i inquire about whether i could apply,maybe for the sake of application fee 100 USD. Then this is the result. My GPA, Publications (1SCI, 5 EI, No1 author), TEOFL 101, research backround and national prizes and one patent all are rather compitent set. two professors's direction is the same with my previous direction. It could not be the reason of all other things. If they told you it is your weak GRE, that means it is. UCLA like high GRE scores. I don't regret about this rejection. on the contrary, i understand why the ranking of UCLA is descending and the ranking in this major is also weak right now. I don't regret. On the contrary i feel lucky they rejected me because I don't want to waste my time.

Mechanical Engineering, University Of California Los Angeles (UCLA) To the poster below! I am waiting for official acceptance. They had noticed that I have been recommended for admission (Signed by Vice chair)! after a while I contacted the department and asked them about status of my admission they told "you have been accepted"! Hence, If you have received an email from the department, there are some hopes...

Civil Engineering, UCLA To the poster below, NO, first i called them and know I didn't get it because of my low GRE and then several days latter, a email told me to see status on website, on website, I found out that I was rejected. Strong recommendation, many research results, match between research direction and my experiences and even have a Ph.D in science. They just told me i have poor GRE. But after i discussed it with my friends. The conlusion is that a university where only emphesize your GRE score instead of your research experiences is not a good university. Actually, many other university said GRE score is absolutely not a main criterion for the judgement about admission.

Civil, UCLA The competition in UCLA is very fierce and too many competitors. Even you are among the top 10 students from your country, you will still be rejected. So, you have to evaluate yourself before your application. I am absolutely top 10 students from our country. national prize, 10 years of research work with 7 journal papers and 1 book and 1 patent. Already have Ph.D in science, but my GRE is poor only 327. They told me the reason to reject me is your poor GRE. So, for UCLA, your GRE score must be above 330.If it is not ture, you better save your 100 USD

Computer Science, University Of California, Los Angeles(UCLA) To the poster below. This is exactly the part where my frustration is. Some of the UCLA admitted students already got information with their SIR / SLR. And some aren't. I am waiting.........too....
