Graduate School Admission Results

Reached out about applications status. Received a no as my response. Don't think I'm going to be able to get in anywhere, sadly.

If anyone who's accepted doesn't plan on attending, please decline. They're waiting to hear from first group of accepted people before they make more offers.

Just received the email notifying me to check the portal.

Was not emailed with notification. Checked the website out of curiosity and the decision was available. Astrophysics concentration, TAship included.

On behalf of the Department of Physics, I am writing to inform you on the status of your application for admission to New York University's Graduate School of Arts and Science. It is the policy of the Graduate School to offer admission to outstanding doctoral students only if they are fully funded. Such funding comes from the Graduate School's MacCracken Fellowship Program, offered to a limited number of prospective students selected by the department. The department regards you as an outstanding potential candidate for admission and we have placed you on our wait list for admission. However, since we have only a limited number of full-funding offers that we may make, we are not yet able to make a final decision on your application. We hope to get a better sense of the resources available to us, and thus be able to determine whether we might be able to offer you admission with funding, by April 15.

TTPB Where did you hear that NYU will make decisions on March 9? I was assuming I got rejected because I have not heard back yet. Good luck!

GPA ~9 out of 10, 1.5 years research experience and a couple of publications in an unrelated field.

Interviewed on 03/03, accepted for Astronomy sub concentration. Two research projects (One through my school, one REU), no publications.
