Received an email stating that they are preparing for an offer for the admission! :)

No portal update. Emailed department for information. Received a response a couple of hours later informing me that I am on the waitlist and that they cannot disclose where I am on it. Portal still reflects that my application is “in review”.

Interviewed with two PIs on Jan. 31 and Feb. 3 Waiting for final decision

Rejected via email; the email said that there were 130 applicants competing for only 6 positions. Congrats to everyone who made it!

The sender naming was personalized..I wonder if the content was as well Did everyone receive the same message? The Department of Linguistics at McGill had our final admissions meeting last week. After careful consideration of the application files, we regret to inform you that we are not able to offer you a place in our program. This year we received 130 applications for about 6 places in our program, which made our final decisions particularly difficult. We thank you very much for your interest in our program, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours, wherever you decide to do your graduate studies to achieve your academic goals.

Rejected via email; no interview.

A PI contacted me for an interview in early Jan, and I got rejection one month and a week later.

Saw an update on the portal

Got an email to check the portal and found out that I’ve been waitlisted (had one interview w/ 2 of the faculty in early Feb)

Got an unofficial email on 4th February, and got the official offer on 17th.
