Logged in to the website and saw a decision notice. Standard rejection... I was really hopeful for this one :/ No interview as well

I logged into the same portal that is used to submit your application and saw a link to the decision at the bottom of the page and it led me a pdf stating that they couldn't accept me- no email.

Was notified by the assistant director of admissions. "Due to intense competition, we must in many cases deny admission even to highly qualified candidates." I reached out to the PI since we had an established relationship where she expressed her surprise that decisions were sent out and lament of my rejection. Due to COVID budget cuts, they only accepted 1 bio-anth PhD applicant and it wasn't her choice...COVID sucks y'all but at least I know there wasn't much more I could have done to be accepted.

To the posters of Johns Hopkins/ Anthropology, Is this an automative email from the uni. portal or you received an email from a POI? so desperate to ask such a question because I received nothing!

Same as the other recent posters, I checked the portal and saw that a decision was available. I think CUNY should send an email notification, but whatevs.

No email just checked portal. Did anyone get put on a waitlist this year?

Checked the portal. Standart rejection text.

Wait listed pending funding.

Email to check portal and standard rejection letter. Disappointed to say the least. POI told me international spots were limited but I really believed I had a chance.
