Email from the coordinator, after an interview 3 weeks ago. Early modern Europe subfield. I have now a very though choice to make between UPenn a yet stronger Ivy but I'm very happy for this result.

I'm so excited!

Email to check update. Generic rejection letter.

6A/1w(UCSD)/7r/5p, all top 20. declined Emory; Rochester; and WUSTL already for those who are waiting.

Emailed me on 2/8. I believe my application was fully complete on 1/19. They did not offer me multiple dates or asked for my availability. They just said 2/20 is the day from 10AM-4PM.

Emailed me at 2AM on the Valentine's Day.. The email talked about both a virtual and in-person option but the only options available were two dates in late March for virtual. Said it would be from 8AM - 2PM

Okay, are we not gonna talk about the AUDACITY of that rejection letter lol? Most are conciliatory and acknowledge a bit of the fickleness and randomness of the process, but that letter was: "We had a lot of applications and had to choose the best. And you definitely were not among the best"

Two rejections in one day. Ouch. I think coming from an unknown institution with non-analytic letter writers has hurt me more than my overall GPA. I thought I was a good fit. Prestige bias strikes again, or I'm just unlucky. 0a/0w/4r/10p

Already posted acceptance, but had a question. Did any other Berkeley English admits get their funding package yet? I'm still waiting for mine
