Graduate School Admission Results

Rejection email found in my spam box. Very competitive program, really wasn't expecting anything. Congrats to anyone who got in!

Not only did I get a rejection email, but it was also a rejection email where the same paragraph was copied over and over again addressing to different names.....So they really did leak other applicants' names and rejection status. Wow.

Can't believe I got in, so happy! This is to everyone who said I couldn't make it because I'm a female minority applicant. Sorry waitlisters, but this spot is taken!

Took Stanford courses NDO, got a 4.2 GPA (only As and A+s), worked in a Stanford lab for a year, won project awards in my Stanford courses. A bunch of other stuff as well, but if I mention them it will be very easy to identify me. Good SOP, extremely strong LORs written by an impressive group that included Stanford professors. There are people out there saying that if you get a graduate certificate at Stanford you are basically guaranteed admission. This is NOT the case; I know of 3-4 people in similar shape to me that got rejected this cycle.

No interview; generic letter

Indian student, Old IIT, GPA 9.7+ Exp: 2 research internships (Univs) + 1 industry internship, and some research done under UG Thesis Total 5 papers (but none of them is in a top A* venue and I'm the first author for only one of them). Graduated last year and am currently in an AI residency role at a FAANG company.

Top 5 IIT B.Tech. in CS. 1 publication and 1 under review. Had a top HFT internship and an university internship.

IR2 from a mid tier IIT. 2 research internships in universities with one of them being international. 1.5 years of work experience ~FAANG. 1 conference paper (A) and 2 journals under submission, all first author. Systems and Networking background. Congrats to all other admits, looks like they only take a couple of Old IITans and an exceptional candidate from normal college in India.

Undergrad from Top 20 US college. Stats major. 2yrs stats related research experience. 2 pubs in non CS related conferences. 3yrs industry experience as data scientist. 1 LoR from undergrad professor, 2 from industry.

CS undergrad, top-tier IIT, 9.66 CPI, 2 yrs work experience, 2-3 research projects, some extra-curriculars, no research papers. Was my ambitious school and kind of expected

Business background from top 5 undergrad business school with computer science minor, heard of people who have never even coded before getting accepted so I thought I would shoot my shot LMFAO!

Applied for part time MS program. Non-traditional background. 5 years as Front End Developer. Currently in FAANG and worked in HFT before. 3.7 GPA, Econ major.
