Graduate School Admission Results

[Ignore the waitlist status] Has anyone heard from the IEOR department of Berkeley for MEng. admission decisions ?

IR2 from mid tier IIT. 2 research internships (universities), one of them international. 1 conference paper (A) and 2 journals under submission. Best bachelors Thesis, ACM ICPC Regionals, SIH win. 1.5y work exp ~FAANG. Good research match for Systems and Networking. Definitely don't apply to terminal masters (MS only) - the meagre ~5 students they take in for this program are from UCB/Stanford/MIT undergrads, 0 from India. MS/PhD chances are also slim but there is at least a chance since they take ~20 in total.

EPM track. GPA: 4.1/5. IELTS 7. NO GRE. With a funding of 13000$

3.45 GPA 4100+ hours worked in human services.

Reached out on March 14th to ask about status. The PI replied the same day and told me that acceptance letters were already sent, meaning it did not work out. Received official rejection 3 days later.

E&PM track. Received congratulatory email, official offer to follow in 2 weeks. Also received half tuition scholarship. This is definitely making my decision process harder. Thanks UCB and good luck to everyone still waiting!

Got accepted via email on 3/16 into their M.Eng program with an emphasis in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. My GPA and GRE weren't the strongest, but I have been a part of a college rocketry club the last 4 years and have had 2 research projects related to the program. I have also worked in the industry this past year as a part-time satellite control engineer. I had pretty strong LORs as well. Overall, my experience is definitely what got me in. Received email to check portal. No GRE, no interview. A lot of undergraduate research experience, great LORs, speak English, Japanese, and Spanish, studied abroad in Asia, URM, and took a ton of quantitative classes. 4A/2R/1W/5P

UC Berkeley EECS Ph.D. program. Two previous NSF REUs. Two+ years of research experience during undergrad in physics/ECE. Two primary-author publications. No interview. All good, I got into another program that I am happy about! Good luck to everyone!

4x NASA intern, discussed with POI at Berkeley and NASA on future research for a year, NASA pulled me out of depression and I am glad it all worked out in the end.
