Great school but retarded admins. Rejected but glad to finally know at least. We had more than 100 applications to the doctoral program this year, many with extraordinary credentials. Our decisions are based on a very thorough review, extensive discussion by the committee, and consultation with the rest of the faculty. We take into account a broad spectrum of factors: grades and test scores, general educational background, prior experience, statements of interest, and letters of recommendation. We seek exceptional aptitude for doctoral study, commitment to research, and fit to the current research agendas of faculty and the School. Because our doctoral program represents an intensive commitment of faculty time and financial resources, we are able to admit only a small number of candidates. |
