To the post below: I also received an interview notification via email on Jan 18th. But hours later they told me I was not on the interview 'list'. Totally confused by this mistake. Curious about why this should happen.

Not excited! Have heard this program is the worst program at Stanford. Around 200 admits, no career services, weak placement of finance jobs. Big expense. Professors are too busy to care about MS students. Any suggestions?

Emailed to check applyweb. Three years of research experience, one nature photonics submitted, but trying to switch track to machine learning for grad school. Expected rejection.

To the GSB poster below: which programs were you accepted to, beyond GSB, MIT and Michigan?

TTPB: "Interviews" are necessary but the Stanford committee has a wide definition for interview. If a faculty had met you somewhere in person, it can count as an interview. If you ask them they would say no, interviews are not necessary but as far as I researched, for admission you should have been interviewed or talked to them in some other way.
