Computer Science, Stanford University To Stanford CS applicants, the CS interviewer did mention that those who are being interviewed for PhD admission are in the top 20% of the applicants this year. They usually finally take in 1/3rd of those interviewed. However, if more applicants apply to a particular research group, then the probability of getting in decreases. Those who have been interviewed will be notified within 1/2 weeks.

French, Stanford University For those intending to apply for French next year, opt beyond Stanford, please. It is a giant waste of your time. They are having funding cuts and they also seem to not care much about notifying their students. It is very much a process of you having to chase after them. Can you imagine doing this for five years? P.S. I got accepted into 6 programs so I'm not bitter at all about this. I'm just annoyed they made me waste my time and other schools' times as well for decisions.
