Has anybody heard anything from Maryland?

Got an offer letter for the Dean Fellowship and GTA from the Department, as well as my advisor for the 1st year before I choose a POI next year. From a normal university in the US, some research exp, very high GPA

This is one of my top choices- so excited!!

Hi, I'm the person from below who said I was waitlisted. First, an informal email from faculty a week and a half ago saying I would likely be taken off the waitlist, and then this past Saturday I was taken off the waitlist with a tuition waiver and stipend! Very happy!

TPB: I was admitted (pending acceptance by the Graduate School) but waitlisted for funding.

Very informative email (same as those below). They have been pretty up front about their financial situation given covid, which I appreciate. Hopefully this works out, although I'm pessimistic about getting funding even if admitted.

At this time, we have placed you on a waitlist for funding and admission at the University of Maryland's Department of Economics. We may be able to extend some offers of admission and department funding for applicants like you who are currently on this waitlist, and we expect to be able to start making those decisions after April 1. All full-time enrolled graduate students are required to purchase health insurance.

So excited!! Received an email with a generic letter attached. Letter states that the first round of financial aid offers will go out mid to late March. If you haven't gotten a response yet, there is still hope -- the letter says, "if you know that you will be declining this offer, please let us know quickly and assist us with the rolling admissions process so that we can extend an offer of admission to another deserving student."
