TPB: I was invited via email. I assumed all waitlisted candidates were invited. Is this not true?

Hep-ex & phenomenology. A little surprised by this rejection since I've got offers from better programs for Nuclear & HEP. Would have turned down an acceptance either way but a much needed reality check for me. Curious to know how many international students were offered admission. Congrats to those who received offers!

QI/QC theory, no interview, direct rejection.

Email to check portal. Aside from the increase in applicants and reduction in spots, I'm curious how my application would have faired if I submitted much earlier. Don't think it would change too much, but I submitted an hour after deadline. Oh well... Life goes on and we all are going to do great things. You just have to believe it!

I got an email to check my status update.

Applied 2nd round, got interview invitation email on the 10th of February, held the interview on the 24th, currently waiting for results.

Have decided not to accept the offer.

Email to check portal. Hep-ex. Not gonna lie - this one hurt. I did an REU there this past summer, one of my LOR came from a faculty member. Grateful I have other great offers but still hurts. Talk about a bruised ego. Best of luck to everyone else!
