Ignore the status. Has anyone received emails with titled 'You are important to Berkeley' I don't know what this means. Hope that this is a good sign.

ignore status. Received an email titled "you are important to us". No decision or specific update, just saying that the applications are being reviewed. That's not news :/

I got email last week to interview with one POI (They were my listed first choice coincidentally). Just got email for a second interview with an Professor who I did not list. Did other people get notification for a second interview. Does it mean anything or is it just policy. Subarea is CV.

Got an email early in the AM of Jan 21st asking for an interview the 24th or the 26th.

Received email requesting availability for interview. I'm assuming almost nobody got rejected at this stage.

10% of 700 got accepted, apparently

Told that they are interviewing around 9 people for 3-4 spots
