Management Science And Engineering (MS&E), Stanford University Rejected by PhD program but accepted as master. Suprised since my profile is not competitive comparing to rejections here, except my GRE quantitative scored 170 which I don't think should be any strong strength. Already got a master, so probably won't go, the opportunity cost could be so high. Still, it's so hard to reject Stanford.

(Civil Engineering) Sustainable Design And Construction (sdc), Stanford University I think 500 is actually quite a normal grad student population in any engineering department in a big research U.S university. Many other selective CEE programs have even more than 500 and they're all proactive and competitive. Stanford has a very BIG engineering school so 500 is actually not considered too many.

History, Stanford University Wasn't expecting to get in and not too bothered but these are the best line from a cold letter: "The number of applicants for graduate study in our Department far exceeds the number we can admit." and "I sincerely hope that you secure admission to another program and that you will find a way to continue your interest in history."
