(computing systems) no papers published, no internships. but i think my projectwork/SOP/LORs/GPA helped. didn't expect to get in after all the rejects, but very happy!

*Hacker voice* I'm in. Former Fed-RA. Got email that I'm off the waitlist. Will accept pending positive discussion with a few professors/current grad students tomorrow.

After two months of waiting, my application finally moved from the waitlist to a rejection! What I could say after spending multiple months working on these applications is that it's hard for first-generation, Global South's underrepresented communities.

They haven't responded to my emails for weeks. I am glad they sent a rejection at least. Would have been great if they hadn't kept me waiting. Super unprofessional.

I had a really low GPA (sub 3.0) but I had LOR from the most notable physical oceanographers in the world. I also had 6 months of relevant research experience (did research on southern ocean eddies). I thought I had a chance so I thought I would apply. I also qualified for a fee waiver so I figured the worst they'll say is no.

May be due to low GPA... I thought my experience would compensate

I was on the waitlist and was notified by email that they will not be going onto the waitlist for students with my area of interest. Supposedly they haven't gone onto the waitlist at all. Guys, I'm still on five waitlists and it sounds like none of them have moved at all. People really need to decline offers they will not accept and asked to be removed from waitlists they will not consider. I had three offers and declined two of them, I also asked to be removed from several waitlists which I was not considering. But there is just too much gridlock at the moment and people are going to get screwed over. Please start declining offers you won't accept, it's almost the fifteenth and there are a lot of people like me who really don't want to have to accept an offer only to get into a school I'd prefer after the fifteenth.
