Computer Science, Columbia University First admit, so the application season wasn't an entire waste. :) Graduated from IIT Kanpur, >2.5 years experience as an MLE at a top American MNC. Was really beginning to feel that I had applied to places way out of my league, mainly due to a moderate GPA.

Computer Science, Columbia University TTPB: Interviews have been given to everyone that has applied to the program and most of those people are not getting in. I think what the poster below is saying is that it's kind of cruel for Columbia to raise our hopes like that. At this point, I don't think there will be many more acceptances since a ton have gone out already. And the people getting accepted now still have top tier stats (close to 4.0 GPA and 335+ GRE)

Computer Science, Columbia University calm down dude. my friend who applied for the nlp track got an admit in april first week and i've applied for the same as well. my interview had a deadline of 3/27 and I'm fairly certain they hand out interviews for good reason.

Computer Science, Columbia University The interview thing of Columbia sometimes seems a complete hoax to me! They interviewed damn so many people. They won't just simply discard the video data.... may use it somewhere else, maybe for the training purpose... Who knows! We live in AI era where everyone's thirsty of some kind (or any kind) of data. Huhh well played Columbia.. (with our feelings too)

Computer Science, Columbia University (Fu Foundation) Received interview on 3/6, completed on 3/7. Still haven't heard back yet:( Got an offer from CMU MSE-SS but still wants to go to Columbia... I have so many friends in NY and this seems to be a solid program. A little disappointed but BIG CONGRATZ to all who had recently been admitted. P.S. Strong Software Engineering background, decent GRE (331), but rather medium or low GPA (3.5).

Computer Science, Columbia University I guess I should be delighted. I would have been last year when I was rejected from this program and all the others I applied to. But now, I couldn't care less. 6th straight admit. I'm going to CMU. Goodluck to those on the waitlist. Interview on 10/3. Undergrad from Tier 3 Indian university but a solid profile otherwise. GPA 9.7, GRE 334, TOEFL 119. Great LORs. 2 years work exp at a startup and a research lab in the US
