Electrical Engineering, Stanford University Got a mail to check the website. Got rejected. Good thing in a way, since masters students are like cash cows for US universities. I’ll be better off pursuing my masters from ETH and then get my PhD from the ranks of MIT, Stanford or ETH!

Computer Science, Stanford University To the Stanford posters below: I know some strong applicants (e.g., have several first-authored top tier conference/journal publications) were accepted without any interviews in the past years. I personally had a phone interview with a faculty, who is not poi but in admission community, and it was pretty general admission interview like the posters in the past week. I think except for some exceptional cases, Stanford faculties like Prof. Li do not have interviews by themselves to admit their students.

Sustainable Design And Construction / CEE, Stanford University I emailed them asking on the date of the visit day and they responded last week saying "The admissions committee continues to review applications and will inform applicants of a final admission decision as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience as we take time to give each application a thorough review and work to construct an exciting and dynamic incoming cohort for next academic year." I guess based on previous years discussions/results on this forum we shouldn't be surprised by the (relatively) late announcement!
