[Not WL] TPB: Sorry for the late reply. I was told I was placed on the top three positions on Foster's waitlist and I declined it. As the other post below indicated, where he/she has declined the offer, I think you have a great chance! Good luck! As for UT Austin, I know they have made the initial offers but have no idea if they have completed the entire admission process. Hope this helps.

TPB: Congrats. Do you think that only a few admitted students are received funding emails? Have anyone received any contact from Vickie Flecher or professor Boragan Aruoba regarding the waiting list? Too silent, is it normal?

Wait listed then rejected after interview. From my understanding they accepted 10 people and interviewed 38.

People who are already accepted congratulations! If you have offered an opportunity at UMD ECE and have better offers please kindly reject as soon as possible, so that some other students like me are waiting to get a chance too. Good deeds will often come back to you if you do so. Thanks

Got the funded email last night. Excited.

1.5 years research, part of it as a post bacc research assistant. I already pretty much knew I was out, I think some of the big schools just waited til everything was in order to send out rejections (Wisconsin being a notable exception). Better luck nexy year! (I hope :])

Have any admitted people received any updates about their funding? Are they sending out fully funded offers recently? Thanks!

At last. The way they delayed sending rejections has seriously bothered me. This was the last decision I was expecting, so my watch has ended. Only one admission out of nine applications, all in physics.
