TPB: Email asking about waitlist interest came from prof aruoba at 9pm ET last night

To TPB: may I ask when you received the email asking whether you are still interested?

TPB: I also got the email asking if I was still interested, but it didn't say they were *likely* to give me an offer, just that they "might be able to"

I was in the WL and was contacted to know if I was still available to accept an offer, as they would be able to make me one soon. I withdrew myself from the WL. Good luck!

Did anyone hear back from Maryland ?

Received the rejection from the joint program (UMD - MPI) today. For those who don't know what it is --, this is an opportunity for UMD CS applicants (if they have already been accepted to UMD) to spend portions of their time in both UMD, USA and MPI, Germany and have two advisers.

People who declined the offer, what are your main reasons to decline the offer from umd and choose other programs? I have offers from umd and another university. I should decide between them by tomorrow. thanks in advance.

I was on the priority WL but was accepted this evening (fully funded). I will be attending.

I declined the offer. I have better offers from gatech and michigan, gonna decide between them. I am undergraduate from maryland, applied for nlp. after consulting with several phd students at maryland, I declined the offer.

Can anyone help with tips on how to get a full scholarship (assistantship?), otherwise I cannot afford(
