Graduate School Admission Results

To the post below asking about ML/NLP, I had an interview with Stanford NLP in late Jan but haven't heard from them since.

Email from POI. Good time to know and nice of him to email me directly. Accepted to my two top choices, so the decision is now easier.

Has any PhD applicants heard from Stanford's Education program? Interview offers?

Had good interview with POI. Applied with masters from top-4 cs school. 7 papers (10 if you include in review) at ACL/EMNLP/NAACL/NeurIPS. Have strong LoRs. A lot of industry experience. At this point, what does it even take to get into Stanford...

I emailed the dept. and they hope to have all PhD decisions out by Feb 15.

wow, totally unexpected, already have taken 25+ graduate CS Stanford credits all A or A+, 2 papers, 5+ years of work experience in ML. Bachelor non-CS major, GPA 3.8 . I guess they give too much weight to your bachelor, not much hope if not from top US CS schools. I will try another major next year. Good luck to all who go it.

To other bellow: I thinks so. Though I also payed the fee and sent my official docs, then definitely would not have received them yet. This tells me, they do not need them for continuing the decision process, but only upon admittance.

cosmology, first class honours from Cambridge

Received an email that the interviews for ME will be scheduled starting today up to Feb2.

TTPB: I also haven't heard anything yet- based on previous years I'm assuming 10-15 interview requests were already sent out and rejection emails come this week :/

Generic email from Chairman of Admissions Committee. Going from an international undergrad with RA experience, strong LORs, strong GRE, but no publications. Was a reach school anyways.

TTPB: also got an email on Sat about sending an official transcript, forgot exactly the name of which track, think it was policy. I think decisions will be released within the week

Anyone applied for computational social science or optimization and stochastics has heard back yet? Anyone who got transcript request has heard back yet?
