3 years of research experience, summer internship with the government, 3 papers (one of them first author), despite coming from a mediocre state school accepted with funding

Interview with 3 faculty. 2 with PoI.

My friend who got into berkeley and mit got rejected from stanford. My other friend who got into cmu, uw, and mit got rejected from stanford. Who does get into Stanford CS????

It was my dream school and I've been working on this for a year. Devastated.

So excited! I am a very unconventional applicant, so I was a bit surprised, but the interviews did go pretty well. Scores weren't that great, but highly motivated and lots of different kinds of work experience.

CGPA 3.93; Two internships in bay area; One paper; Still rejected. T.T

TPB: I applied for stochastics and optimization track as well. So far heard nothing from Stanford. Does this mean an implicit reject or they are still processing the applications? Can anyone contact Stanford and see how it goes?

Received an email notifying me that my application is currently under review, and that decisions on all applications will be finalized by the second week of February 2020.

was worth a shot! first response and still waiting to hear back from basically all of my schools -- wish I could fast-forward a month and now my fate already haha

Received the E-mail at 5:20pm California time. Looks like there are lots of people who are better than me but are also rejected, so I'll take it easy.

I was told that I was put on the waitlist and asked to come to campus for a two-day stay. Not sure if this was extended to any other candidates, so I wanted to post that I had heard back!

expected -- great LoRs, good research experience in intended field, but mediocre GPA brought me down. always worth the shot though!

TTPB: I haven't heard from them and I haven't had interview offers
