Recent Graduate Admission Results December 2020
Chemistry, University Of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Decent GPA and decent GRE. I had no idea whether I was competitive or not. 2 years of undergrad research experience, no publications but 3 poster presentations and strong LORs. Got a phone call this afternoon, I'm psyched!! Good luck to everyone else out there!

Chemistry, University Of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Graduated from a small liberal arts college in 2019, 4.0 major GPA, honors thesis, 3.5 years research experience (2 undergraduate leading to 1 publication in decent biomaterials journal), 1.5 years post-graduate research at National Cancer Institute (3 publications total, 1 in top cancer journal, 1 more under review). 3 poster/oral presentations at ACS conferences, ACS Senior Organic Division Award. Decent GRE scores, did not take subject. Got a phone call from a POI, super excited!

Chemistry, University Of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Did not take GRE. 4 years of undergraduate computational chemistry research experience. 3 domestic conferences, 1 international conference, 1 publication. At least 1 strong letter of rec. Got a call from a professor, said I was accepted with a formal letter coming later this week.

Cinema And Media Studies, University Of Californa, Los Angeles (UCLA) Was notified that I was waitlisted early JUNE via random email but was notified I was not coming off waitlist JULY 3. Interesting fact to note: last year I was also waitlisted but received an official "waitlist letter" via Department Chair, but this year, I was notified in JUNE by the graduate admissions board about said waitlist. I don't know if the discrepancy in letters from last year to this year was due to COVID, but whatever. Good think I accepted back in April to another program.

Animation, University Of Californa, Los Angeles (UCLA) Finally had my decision on the portal website after checking daily like a crazy person. It was honestly a surprise as I had applied before and was wait listed then and now just straight up rejected. The rejection letter offers a contact if you have any questions on your decision which I plan to use. It's sometimes difficult to gauge what the department is looking for

Animation, University Of Californa, Los Angeles (UCLA) Congrats to those who were accepted. Emailed the department yesterday to ask if decisions were delayed, and my application status was updated on the website today. I plan to apply again, but wow did the dept wait a long time to release decisions...
