Thanks for your promptitude: rejection received almost 8 week after (unpleasant) interview, 12 weeks after submission. Message on Prof Harrison's behalf: "Thank you for your interest in the Department of Italian at Stanford University Division of Literature, Cultures, and Languages. After careful consideration of your file, I am sorry to tell you that we are unable to offer you admission to the graduate program for the 2015-2016 academic year.Unfortunately we were forced to turn down many promising students this year. The number of available positions in the department is small, and it was greatly exceeded by the number of applicants. This year's applicant pool was also particularly exceptional, and the department's Graduate Admissions Committee was faced with many difficult choices.We wish you every success in your future endeavors. Sincerely."

Expected but a little disappointed. Congratulations to those who are accepted!

From what I can see, I received the offer a few days later than others. Not sure whether that means that I was accepted from a secret waitlist.

I knew this was coming and did my crying two weeks ago. Its all gucci.

Very nice rejection letter. I appreciate it. Thank you for your application to the Program in Modern Thought and Literature. I am writing to let you know that, unfortunately, MTL will not be able to make you an offer of admission this year. As you may know, the program always receives far more applications from highly qualified applicants than our program is able to accept, which means that we must regretfully turn away many outstanding candidates.

Does anyone of you know when the next phase of announcements for masters will be made?

Honestly I'm surprised I got in.

Interviewed and some favorable responses from POIs. I guess Stanford ML is too competitive.
