Ignore Interview. Does anyone who applied to Yale hep-th got an interview call? I would like to know if anyone applied to Prof. Walter Goldberger, Prof. David Poland and Prof. Thomas Appelquist. Thanks in advance

Interviewed two-three weeks ago.

Unofficial acceptance. Several related research experience. Was notified by POI. Did not approach POI before applying.

Interviewed before. Astonished to be rejected, because the interviewer knows my research advisor. Maybe because I said I wanted to do theory, but the interviewer is doing experiment

Interests: novel materials. NO pub. Receive an interview in January, and present my research work within 30min. My project is somewhat related to the area of the interviewer, but he also kindly recommended some other professors in the department who I could contact with.

Astro decisions have been made: 8 people offered this year. I emailed PI, they told me about it. Try reaching out to your PIs for an update.

Condensed Matter Theory. Had chat with on PI before application + with another PI a day before acceptance. PGRE: 730, Final two year average: 3.507

Condensed matter, 2 preprints. I thought caltech was done sending all the notices.

Received a mail from graduate coordinator that said, ''While we are still reviewing applications and making our decisions, and it will be a few weeks until the final decisions are made, I think it will be quite unlikely you will be admitted to our PhD program. The competition for places in your area of interest is especially intense. I hope you will receive other offers and continue your progress in theoretical physics!''

Email suggested that all SEAS official admissions letters are being sent in about a week.
