Notified about the portal update. The deadline is March 21, so actually my third recommender has not sent her letter yet...

No GRE.

Thank you for your interest in graduate studies at Columbia. We received many compelling applications this year, only a few of which we were able to accept.  I regret to inform you that after evaluating a very strong cohort of applicants, the Faculty Committee on Admissions for the PhD program in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies is unable to offer you admission to that program. I know that this is unpleasant news. Nevertheless, I can assure you that your application received the most careful consideration, and that the committee made this decision after much deliberation. I wish you success in your future career, and thank you for having given us the opportunity to consider you for admission to Columbia.
