Computer Science, Columbia University TBH: I don't think it's going to be very positive on getting admitting as people they want to admit have already got their offers. I had some friends that have better background already got their offer from Columbia regardless that we submit the application at the exact same time. Even if there are a few rounds of offers coming they wouldn't be much. Be realistic guys.

Computer Science, Columbia University I'm done waiting. Some of us are planning on paying for the majority of the cost of attendance and this is how Columbia treat prospect grad students? The only reason why I even check these posts and updates is because I paid the application and GRE fee.

Computer Science, Columbia University Columbia is a ridiculous by product of capitalism. When it's been half a year since submitting application and not hearing back from them, it's shameful if they do not refund the application fees and compensate the fees for GRE/TEOFL score sending. They just wasted our time with applications which may never receive a decision. It's utterly ridiculous. I'm actually happy I did not choose to go to a garbage, capitalistic university whose only aim is to look for $ and not give a crap about aspiring students. Screw them. I have an admit from a better, public university. They don't deserve me nor anyone else still waiting for an admit. You are better off than joining this shameful university.

Computer Science, Columbia University So many of us are still waiting, including two of my friends and I. We were admitted to different schools, and it would be great to be accepted to the same program at Columbia. Not sure why they want to keep so many people on the hook... My scholarship wants to know the program I plan to commit by the end of next week...

Computer Science, Columbia University As far as I know, almost everyone got interviewed, so yes, getting an interview does not increase any chance of getting admitted. Probably just a normal procedure. The thing is Columbia U seems to not care about how late this is getting now since there is almost no penalty for them. Instead, they are so precisely controlling the final number of people to come to their program this fall.
