Receive an email to check the portal. Status letter was hosted there. Text as follows: We have received your application and supporting documents for admission to the Graduate School. After careful consideration, the faculty of the Creative Writing program to which you applied have not recommended your admission. Their decision was based on the requirements of their particular program, which may include, the qualifications and performance of students currently studying in the program, and/or the number of new students that the program can accommodate and support. I support their decision and therefore cannot offer you admission. I appreciate your interest in the graduate programs at North Carolina State University, and I wish you well in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Peter Harries, Dean

Came a couple of weeks after an email that sounded like a hold or a waitlist notification, but it was hard to tell.

Master's GPA was 4.0. Was somewhat taken aback by outright rejection; the admissions officer had stated that my application was awaiting review about a week ago, but that decisions would be made by the end of February. Given that someone with the same undergraduate and postgraduate grades as me was accepted, I figured that undergrad GPA wouldn't be an automatic disqualifier before review, but the number of waitlist offers from mid-February suggests that some applications weren't read before waitlist decisions were made, which kind of sucks.

was put on waitlist after informal interview in January, just now got official rejection in the portal so whoever had the formal interview must've accepted.

Anyone get a funding offer?

email to check portal. Not sure if I got funding, though---the website says they do 3 competitive scholarships each year, and I wonder if since it didn't say in the letter, I didn't get it. But if I didn't get funding, I'm not going, LOL. 3a/2w/2r/1p

applying out of field as a psych major :) gsu is my top choice so fingers crossed!

Interview followed up by an acceptance email. Eager to accept it pending other offers!
