Economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison TPB: the interviews this year are an attempt to be more discerning with their second round of offers. A number of other schools are now doing the same. I personally didn't like how UW did theirs very much, they only gave 10-15min per candidate and really it just felt like they were rushing me through my responses. My guess is that those that aren't taken from the interview portion will form the wait list, which is common for business programs like marketing. I have firsthand experience with that.
