Graduate School Admission Results

Interviewed on 2/18. Rejected on 2/21. Received an email indicating a status update on the application portal. About 75 students were interviewed, 16 students accepted. Usually, 18 students are accepted but 2 students had deferred from the prior year. Not sure how many are waitlisted. The interview day was remote. Had 3 30min staff interviews and 3 30min sessions with current students/alum. Staff asked several interview questions about my ability to tough it out through a long/challenging program. Was also asked 1) how I navigate conflict with supervisors/professors, 2) what my research experience is and how prepared I feel for the dissertation process. Can't remember other questions but they were pretty standard. Hope this info helps someone in the future :)

Ignore the waitlist, anyone hears the news from UMD? I am quite nervous about this and was hoping this will be my best shot.

Interviewed at the end of Jan. Waitlisted today via email from program director. If anyone has been admitted and is accepting a different offer, please let them know asap!

Just notified about the admission, but did not provide any funding information.

Assumed rejection since I never got an interview offer, but got the official notification last night
