Curriculum And Instruction - Digital Media, University of Wisconsin-Madison Had the minimum combined GRE score, the GPA is for Master's degree. Never received a notification, just happened to check my grad portal. Thought I had very strong recommendations and the background to be considered, and had a strong, master's level writing sample. I know the department just lost two professors though, so maybe they were very limited and selective with their applicants.

Sociology, University of Wisconsin-Madison 4 different scholarships from different countries, participation in international conference, one article published in another country. Contacted one professor before applying, he personally invited me to apply, said that he wants me to be his student and will do anything possible to have me as his advisee, so we can do some wonderful research projects together. Btw, I also speak Mandarin and Russian. Rejection came via the system. This is very upsetting on a personal level.

Educational Leadership And Policy Analysis(ELPA), University of Wisconsin-Madison Had the minimum combined GRE score, the GPA is for Master's degree. Generic, but thoughtful, email rejection. Received on the same day I was told the committee was meeting, so they may have had some sort of minimum cutoff. I know at least one of my recommendations was very strong.
