That's awesome, thanks for sharing. Meanwhile the University of Michigan's Communication and Media program didn't even send rejection emails. I found out by checking the portal after seeing people post rejections on gradcafe. Good to see some humanity in this stressful process!

LOL, I was the first person to post and I can't tell if everyone else is mocking me. They had the calmest, least stressful interview EVER, the person I talked to was full of compliments and very honest about the program. I was able to talk to a professor, a current student, AND the director of the program before I'd even applied. They're scheduling a quick call to formally accept me. It's just been such a calm, friendly experience that's been way less stressful than any other program I've applied to.

Can someone clarify what's so impressive about UO's communication? Your comments are making me regret not applying!!

Guys, if you have been accepted to the combined Film and Media Studies program at Yale, would you mind sharing your result and/or your home department? Haven't heard back after an interview about two weeks ago and was thinking if I should ask the program about my status this coming week. Thanks a lot.

Did not submit GRE. Notified by email to check website for decision.

Received email invitation for virtual Open House and interviews Feb. 18/19.

No email notification but saw other posts on Grad Cafe about checking application portal.

Email to check portal sent around 2 AM PST on a Saturday... not to make this already anxious group that much more on edge, but just know that these decisions can come at any time LOL. It's all good though. POI warned me it was a long shot since I do not have a Masters. Congrats to all those accepted!

Will be doing the LIS concentration and was offered funding. I have my Master's, a little bit of research experience (summer fellowship), no publications, and actively attend conferences, webinars, and workshops.

Received e-mail to check portal for decision letter. Not surprised by the rejection as I did not receive interview invitation and was not sure whether this program was a good fit for me in general.

Email directed me to check the portal. Very short and generic rejection. Kinda disrespectful

Submitted Dec 14th. accepted through portal Feb 5th. Email received Feb 5th but went to spam. Good luck everyone!
