Graduate School Admission Results

"Congratulations! " They also have a weird incentive to accept early "For students who are ready to make their enrollment decision NOW and submit the online decision notification form by April 1st, we will offer you $500 toward your tuition at the start of the Fall semester. This is separate from any INI funding offers you might receive. All students will receive INI funding notification in early March."

Email to notify that I was admitted and that I will receive a certificate of offer soon, along with details about a fully funded scholarship. Happy about the acceptance but I won't be able to attend unfortunately.

No interview

CV- Robotics institute. Kind of expected. 1 workshop paper 1yr research experience. 2 papers under review. At least gives closure. Others are dead silence. Congratulations to everyone who got in.

Tandon

From 3 IIT. Non-cs major with a minor in ML and applications. Have around 1.5-2 years of research experience in NLP. Have a paper accepted at ACL and another workshop paper at EMNLP. Also, 1.5 years of work experience as SDE at a top cloud MNC. I don't know what the committee wants. Why do they give GPA so much weightage? :-C

No interview.

TA in several theoretical CS subjects; Research Thesis; 1-year working experience as data scientist (analytics + a bit ML)

BG: Undergraduate applicant, T105, G330, 4 non-top CV pubs, GPA3.80. No interview, not receiving any positive feedback from the POI. The touching emails were always plain. Why would some applicants get admitted without an interview? Why not informing me the rejection earlier since it's already destined? The rejection letter said "This year, we had almost 1900 applicants and we were not able to find space for every qualified applicant. All decisions are final; we do not have a waiting list, nor do we reconsider applicants who wish to change their degree goals". What's happening in this weirdly fierce 23Fall cycle???

No pubs might be the issue for rejection. UWM took 60-70 out of 1900
