In the email, it stated there was a record number of applicants. Sometimes people make it off of the waitlist, but it depends on subfiled and they won’t know until close to April 15.

I thought it was safe to get a accept. Anyway, interest was not well aligned. Reject doesn't mean that you are not qualified. Cheer up and keep waiting for other university

Received full tuition scholarship ($51k) and teaching assistantship ($32k). International student who attended Top-30 University (not known for CS). One internship at Microsoft Research but doing software engineering, no research experience or publications, extensive TA experience and project management experience, and strong letters.
