Graduate School Admission Results

No GRE, 2 years SW research exp, MSW gpa 3.8/4.0, talked with POI multiple times since fall 2020. Email from DGS: official acceptances go out ~Feb 9, funding info ~Feb 16.

Submitted my application on 02/23/21 I got an update today. "On behalf of Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare, Office of Admissions. We would like to extend our congratulations and welcome you to the Incoming Class of 2022/2023"

Eh - I don't have much experience - but damn this year is super competitive! I've gotten all rejections thus far! My bro said you get rejections first tho.. Let's hope!

Received an email on 3/24/21 2:03am EST stating that a decision was ready and to check the portal. I knew if I had been accepted, the email would have said that. I applied on 11/11 for the part-time program. 3.5 undergraduate GPA. Currently enrolled in an online post-baccalaureate program in trauma studies (4.0 in one class when I applied). GRE not required. 1 year experience as an assistant teacher and had been working in child welfare for about 1.5 months when I applied. 1 year experience in research, as well.

I think it was very competitive this year!

Ahhh definitely bummed out! Hopefully things go better during the upcoming weeks.

Received an email to check the portal. Admitted into the MSW program but rejected from the PhD program (applied for the dual). I was accepted into the Sociology PhD program though and that is my top choice.

Accepted into the program but still waiting on funding decision.

Was not given an interview, emailed to check portal and opened a rejection letter. Congrats to those who were accepted. Any tips?
