Straight rejection.. :/

Got an e-mail this morning, it was an outright rejection. Kind of surprised that it wasn't a waitlist at least.

Received this mail "Thank you very much for your interest in the combined research master / Ph.D. program at the Bonn Graduate School of Economics (BGSE). We appreciate the time you have invested in submitting your application. The committee in charge of selecting the candidates has carefully reviewed your application for the early admission round. At this point in time, we cannot offer you a scholarship or a place in the combined master / Ph.D. program. Only very few candidates got accepted during the first round and the majority of places has yet to be filled. Your submitted material looks promising and we will come back to you in April. If you have declared that you also want your application to be considered for the regular M.Sc. in Economics program, please note that (when being accepted there) you can still participate in the research track but without funding. Your application certainly belongs to the good ones and it will be reviewed again for the PhD. track in the main admission round. Good luck for the second round!"

BSc + MSc. You are accepted in our ETE program but TSE does not support your application for the Eiffel scholarship.
