To the poster below, what questions did the professor asked? are you having another interview? it was completely academic or was it mixed academic/personal? when are you expecting the final decission? I am having my interview in a couple of days, so I'd like to know more to be prepared.

Had a academic interview via skype on 13th May. I have a first class honours degree from New Zealand, but I was surprised to receive the offer so quickly after a single interview.

Specialization in artificial intelligence. With $70,000 fellowship per year = $20,000 stipend + housing, health insurance, etc. 14 day deadline to confirm acceptance.

No funding =[...will be hard to consider this although UCI is a top choice.

FYI posters, as PhD admits w/o funding, you will need to contact and meet professors to discuss possible funding options. This is common here unlike other unis.
