Sad to get rejected from my dream school :( 3r/0a/4p

Had a discussion with a couple professors prior to the admissions notification.

I was the poster who wrote about the 1:1 discussion with the Director. Offered acceptance, 40K scholarship, recommended I take Linear Algebra prior to enrolling. Elated!

Interviewed with them in late Jan. They made it sound informal/casual beforehand and in reality it really wasn't very!

I'm one of the accepted posters below and wanted to say that the scholarship did come through for $30,000. So they send scholarship notifications 2 days after acceptance. Just a heads up.

TTPB: I didn't apply to comp lit (although that was my original plan), but just in case this information might be helpful, as far as I know, no one at Yale's comp lit program is *really doing film. My sense is that they're literature heavy. It might help that anyone who wants to apply to comp lit as the home department in the future (whose research is mostly film studies) check with them first before applying. I also do not think you should count yourself out. It seems like PhD admission can be at least somewhat subjective depending on your research interests, etc.

I don't know what to say. On a side note, I interviewed with them in January.

Accepted via email (did not go to Spam folder, arrived in inbox). Acceptance also reflected in portal. Application submitted January 7, processed February 2, accepted March 2. No GRE as it wasn't required.

2 interviews, then rejection

Got an email today stating the program director would like to schedule a 1:1 chat with me. Submitted by priority deadline (Jan 5), completed one-way interview end of Feb. Anyone else have this experience?
