According to my POI's website, the faculty have no say in the decision (which I highly doubt), so I'm not sure how to interpret my lack of reaching out. Otherwise, my other stats for those interested: 2 years part-time research at home faculty, 2 REUs, 2 strong letter of recs, executive board leadership positions in 4 campus organizations (including a national organization), tons of academic engineering projects
