Graduate School Admission Results

Got an accept via mail but unable to view status change on spire.umass.edu. Is anyone else facing issues logging in?

To the UMass Amherst questions below, the email said I have until the April 15th to let them know if I accept. So I'm guessing a bunch of acceptances will be sent out then. Don't lose hope! =)

Non-CS background but taken courses in CS

major GPA 3.87, second bachelor's, older non-traditional student, three years research including one year on NASA funded project, second author publication

To the previous poster, I applied to the MS/PhD program and was offered a position in the MS program because the PhD slots were full but they said I had "a highly qualified and strongly motivated application". 3.5 GPA CS major mathematics minor, 3 research projects, 3 internships (1 at Amazon), multiple scholarships, strong LOR's. Pretty upset I didn't get offered a slot in the PhD program, but fortunately I can attend the MS program and transfer into the PhD program.

Was not accepted into PhD program, however I was accepted into the Masters program. However, since CS Masters students are ineligible for any form of assistantship at UMass, I'll probably be denying this (once I work out if I'm too poor to afford it) Good luck to others!

Applied for PhD ..... Got into MS with no funding

MS/PhD program with financial support. Can someone tell what Recruiting Faculty means? Is it the same as PhD advisor? Not happy about the allocated advisor.

Applied for MS/PhD track. Decision letter updated on portal. I think lack of papers was the main reason.

Glad to get in! It was one of my top preferences. My focus is ML and NLP. Profile: alot of research experience. 9 papers with 3 of them top tier. Decent internships.

Got an email saying that status has changed on Jan 17. Status changed from Under Review to Update Pending. It changed to Accepted on 18th with acceptance letter on SPIRE system
