ML/NLP; no interview; multiple tier 1 first author conference papers and multiple papers under review

No interview so was pretty expected.

Did not have contact with POI before hand, field: architecture, quantum algorithms

Area: NLP. I have 1 top publication at Systems research. No interview. Just plain rejection.

Had an interview 2 weeks ago - seemed to go well. No acceptance or rejection yet. Anyone else in a similar boat? Area: Comp Bio/ML

My area is algorithms and ML theory. 3.95 GPA from top 10 undergraduate program, no GRE scores, 2 very strong LoRs from professors + 1 one from manager at FAANG internship, 2 publications submitted and under review. I applied to 7 schools and this is my first rejection. So far, 0 for 1.

GRE 335, gpa 3.97, 3 years research experience, several publications, no interview

We received over 2400 applications this year and were not able to admit all competitive applicants. The Graduate Admissions Committee evaluated the applications very carefully and had to make difficult decisions, denying admission to many excellent candidates because of the limited number of available slots.
