Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology 11 papers (4 journal + 7 conference [including ones under review]; 9 first author papers] in top-most (IF~3+) journals/conference in the field), worked on unique NASA funded projects on deep space exploration technologies, co-wrote million dollar NSF proposal at 22 based on my M.S. research. I did the best within my capabilities. Congratulations for those who got in!

Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology I am truly sorry to inform you that we are not offering you admission to MIT in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The number of applicants for admission to the Graduate School greatly exceeds the number which can be accommodated and it has been necessary to refuse admission to some fine applicants.We appreciate your interest in MIT and sincerely hope that you may be able to continue with your professional studies elsewhere. My response: issok issok I got admission from my 2nd choice so whatever I don't like Boston anyways but why it takes four months noooo? whatever i dont want to knoww *internal sobbing*

Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology To the posters who have been waitlisted below, I was told from some reliable sources that MIT over-admit roughly 20% students each year. They will start looking into the waitlist only if all of these 20% of the admitted students (roughly 15 people) decide to go to somewhere else. And actually none of the students on the waitlist survived in the recent two or three years. So it is basically true for MIT Physics that being on the waitlist is a rejection.
