Received merit aid package of $5,000 per semester (30% of tuition), which is dust compared to an offer from Yale so will probably not be going! Undergrad degree from a public university in a flyover state. Five years of work experience, including Fulbright grantee and two years at a DC-based human rights organization working on Latin America policy. Advanced proficiency in three foreign languages.

My undegrad is meh lol but I had multiple relevant government internships, studied abroad, and know 2 foreign languages. I also participated in research, extracurriculars on campus, and had recommenders who have worked in the field so that might've pushed me over

Accepted with some merit aid and I’m very grateful for it. I applied after having lived for almost 2 years in Central Asia after undergrad doing various work and studying Russian.
