I received an email to check the portal, with a very generic letter. It wasn't a good fit and well, it is kind of a relief that the waiting is finally over. It was my dream school, though. 1A/1R/0W/7P.

Got accepted for American Politics a couple of weeks ago (along with some other people I know). Saw someone in forums say only CP/IR/PT was out for Berkeley, it's not true.

unofficial acceptance (email says an official one is on the way), no interview or a PI reaching out, no publications, 2 years of research at R1 undergrad in different field, 1.5 years of industry research in related field. congratulations to everyone who was admitted and i'm sorry to those who weren't!! i have much more experience with the latter and it's so hard! but know that it's often really luck and not your capabilities or intelligence or such and i sincerely hope it works out, whether that means a ph.d. or not! i am so impressed and proud of all my peers who are ambitious enough to go through this :) best of luck and wishes!
