Computer Science, Columbia University Rejected from PhD, offered consideration for MS after video interview. Was pretty flustered for the video interview and feel like I did not do well. My stats - Honors in EECS from top 5 US school, GRE 170Q/167V/5.5W, 6 years software engineering and startup experience in POI's research area but no publications & all LORs from industry. Rejected everywhere this year, should have applied to some safer schools. Congrats everyone that got in.

Computer Science, Columbia University TTPB I think I applied PhD and then stated that I would be interested in MS if I didn't get the PhD. But, I thought I would be automatically considered for the MS, not have to fill out another application. At this point, I'm not interested b/c of a better offer.

Computer Science, University Of British Columbia Unofficial acceptance from prof after interview on monday. Canadian who did Math+CS undergrad at UBC Okanagan, 4 years RA experience at Stanford, 3 first author papers and ~8 middle author papers. field is applied ML/Comp bio.

Computer Science, Columbia University I also got the option to apply for a Masters. TTPB, if I didn't have a better offer I would probably do it. I think this is what they're offering to the candidates they would have taken as PhDs if this wasn't such a brutal year (so many reasons why there aren't the normal amount of spaces). Maybe MS would transition to PhD next year?? Anyway, good luck to all.

Computer Science, Columbia University Applied to the MS/PhD track, got a rejection. I was asked to fill out a form to apply to the MS track alone. Is there any point applying now considering so many MS admits have already been given out?
