gpa is masters. undergrad gpa is 3.4.

Currently completing an MPhil by research in the same subject. Saw status change on the applicant portal.

I dont know what should I do now...... this was my 4th times applying to the PhD program and all rejected........... my life wasted these years....... so damnn sad and gloomy. i spent all my savings just to pay for these expensive application fees but earned nothing

Offer without interview, announced by PI and department on 3rd Feb, offical offer letter on 6th Feb.

Email from program director. Only 3 available spots.

Recieved an email from a Prof I mentioned in my SOP. Asked to schedule a Zoom conversation. No details included about whether other members of the admissions committee will be present at this meeting.

Second time waitlisted lol. Also applied to regular anthro program but they said they rarely offer acceptance to both so I guess a soft rejection from anthro too?

4.0 is for two grad degrees, fingers crossed that I get off the waitlist!!!!

This is the second time that I applied for this program. The first time I did in 2020 I got got waitlisted. After not being offered admissions I decided to pursue an MA degree at UChicago to better my chances and it worked! I have also applied for the Socio-Cultural Anthropology department three times including this year. I was interviewed and haven't heard back yet, but the Anthro-History program is my priority choice. For all those who did not make it, if you truly believe this is what you are meant to do, don't give up!
